- 1 lb fresh tagliatelle
- 3 tablespoons lime juice
- 4 fl oz olive oil
- ½ avocado, in ½ inch cubes
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 8 oz mozzarella balls in oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- Arrange the fish filets on a baking sheet and brush the olive oil over them.
- Sprinkle the salt, pepper, cumin, and chili powder on top.
- Roast for 8 to 10 minutes, and then let the fish stand for 4 or 5 minutes in the unopened oven.
- This way, it will finish cooking really gently and there is no risk of overcooking it.
- Whisk the lime juice, garlic, oil, and seasoning together.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta for 2 minutes, or until it is just tender.
- Drain it and return it to the pan.
- Add the avocado, mozzarella and lime juice mixture and toss over a gentle heat for a minute, just until the cheese begins to melt.
- Divide the cooked pasta between 4 serving plates and add a cooked salmon filet to each plate.

- 4 salmon steaks or filets
- 4 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 finely diced red bell pepper

- ¼ finely chopped onion
- 2 Roma tomatoes
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 finely chopped habanero chili pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- Put all the salsa ingredients into your blender or food processor, except half the onion, the cilantro and ¾ of the bell peppers.
- Blend until smooth, and then stir in the remaining onion and bell peppers.
- Chill the salsa for at least an hour, so the flavors can blend.
- Preheat the grill to medium.
- Combine the lime juice and the olive oil and brush this mixture over the fish.
- Cover the grill and cook the salmon for about 6 minutes.
- If any of the salmon steaks or filets appears to be cooking too fast, move them to a cooler part of the grill.
- Flip the fish over and cook it for another 5 minutes or until it is done.
- Serve the salmon with the homemade salsa on top.

Therefore, rather than not eating this very nutritious food limit your consumption of farm raised salmon to once a week-if that often and then trim as much of the fat from the fish as possible. Further, grilling or boiling the salmon may be a better for you as the chemical toxins found in aquatic farmed salmon is in the skin.

A Look at the Different Types of Salmon
There are five main types of salmon, although you can get different cuts of salmon as well. Salmon steaks and filets are interchangeable in many easy salmon recipes but it is also nice to know about the different varieties of salmon.
King Salmon – Also known as Chinook salmon this is considered to be the finest type. The high fat content gives this fish a rich-tasting flesh which ranges in color from deep red to white.

Chum Salmon – Also called dog salmon or keta salmon, this variety has dog-like teeth. This species is comparatively small and has pale or medium-pink flesh and quite a low fat content. This type of salmon is usually frozen and exported or canned.
Pink Salmon – These are the most common salmon. Also known as humpies, this variety has a light-colored flesh which is very mild. The fat content is quite low. This type of salmon can be canned, smoked, or sold fresh or frozen. A distinctive hump appears on their backs when they spawn, hence the alternative name.
